Description

Telendos is a small island that sits off the northwestern shore of Kalymnos. The island was part of Kalymnos until the mid 6th century A.D., when an earthquake collapsed the land bridge. Telendos is free of roads and has a very sleepy feel.
There are a variety of crags on the island, caves, vertical walls, and even a long adventurous climb to the top of the north face. The Three Caves sit above the small town and are easy seen from Armeos, Masouri, and Myrties. With crags on all sides of the island one is sure to find the aspect they are looking for.

Getting There

There are many ferries (small fishing boats really) that leave from Myrties jetty many times during the day. The boat will first go to the village of Telendos (10 minutes). Then it'll go around the back side of the island and drop you off at Irox.

If you want to go to the village of Telendos, it's 3 euro per person each way (2024 price). If you want to go to Irox, it's 15 euro per person round trip. The minimum amount to go to Irox is 6 people. Bringing more than 6 people doesn't decrease the price. You can arrange with the boat captain a pick up time to return to Kalymnos at the end of the day.

The walk from Telendos village to Irox is about 45 minutes.
