Description
Basophilia is currently an open project on superb rock.
This route is a bit batshit crazy. Climb up the low angle face and crack until you can grab the first bolt, and transition up the shallow, left corner. Surf jugs to a 2nd bolt and a quick mantel to a ledge stance that really doesn’t feel as good as you thought it would from the ground.
The fun really starts here. Grab the third bolt using some funky body-English and a few underclings (it’s out left to keep you off the ledge for the upcoming sequence), and use some trickery of your choice to get to some pretty sloping finger locks. My trickery of choice was being tall. Short folks will have to make their own magic.
From the finger locks, a big step and a couple snappy move nets you a kneebar and the last bolt. You know what - make that two kneebars. Grab the hands free, double kneebar rest, because you’re gonna need all of the juice you can muster for the last boulder problem to the anchors (maybe V8?).
Desperately scan the left arete for any semblance of a hold, find only one thing that meets that criteria, and bear down for a big toss to the anchors. People who know how to actually engage their core may also find themselves able to surf the sloping arete more statically to the anchors.
