Per Bryan Baumgart: a ranger for the reservoir said the whole open space area that the boulders are in was closed for restoration.
Description
Sit start matched on the obvious jug horn in the center of the north face. Make a large move to the first sloping ledge, then swim through a few more reaches between good holds in the seams. Head over the lip straight on for full value using pebble crimps (you can avoid the tricky tall bit by cutting right before the lip, this removes a star and some difficulty, IMO).
If there weren't an escape option and it was a little less sharp, it'd be a classic 4-star problem. Still this is very fun though, and I think it is the most worthwhile problem in this cluster.
This is not my FA, it's in the Benningfield/Samet guidebook as #1 V4. Once I cleaned the top and sorted beta, it wasn't so bad, and I could see V4, but it was tricky to figure it all out from scratch, and I'd lean V5 personally. The top was caked in lichen, but it's nice and clean as of July 2025.
