Description Suggest change

This route was named after Laika, the stray dog who became the first animal to orbit Earth aboard Sputnik 2.

If you’re facing the backside of The Astroid, begin on the far right edge and make a few bouldery moves to gain a low, left-leaning scoop. A few small pieces of gear can be placed in the scoop before clipping the first bolt. Alternatively, a stick clip would eliminate the need to bring any gear. From here, tiptoe your way up the left side of the scoop, followed by a difficult move to gain a left-leaning rail. Follow this rail until it ends with a big move up to a jug at the bottom of a shallow hueco. Savor the rest and then continue up the thin face. At the fourth and final bolt, head up and left to reach the bolt anchor.

Location Suggest change
