Description Suggest change

“Picnic” is a semi-equipped, multi-pitch climbing route located on the Serrat dels Monjos formation in Montserrat, near Collbató. This route is renowned for its engaging dihedrals and cracks, offering climbers an opportunity to practice traditional protection techniques.

The route faces south, making it ideal for climbing during cooler months.

After completing the climb, traverse eastward to locate the rappel station. A single 45-meter rappel returns you to the base of the formation. Exercise caution during the descent, as the terrain can be loose and exposed.

From the parking area near the Coves del Salnitre in Collbató, follow the GR-172 trail eastward towards the Serrat dels Monjos. After approximately 30 minutes, you’ll reach the base of the route. The starting point is characterized by a prominent dihedral with cracks suitable for traditional protection.

Protection Suggest change

Old, sparse bolts —you’ll need to supplement with a full trad rack: small to medium cams (especially Camalots #0.3–#1), nuts, and slings.
