HUMAN WASTE: Human waste is a major issue plaguing the area. The Southern Nevada Climbers Coalition (SNCC) works to provide "wag bags" free of charge in several locations: Black Velvet Canyon, The Hamlet, Kraft Mountain Area, The Gallery, and The Black Corridor. These bags are designed so that you can pack your waste out. Consider bringing one to be part of your daily kit no matter where you go. Once used, please dispose of them properly. Do not throw them in the toilets at the parking areas.
See https://www.southernnevadaclimbers.org/wag-bags for more information on the program.
Description
This is the obvious recessed wide crack system two feet right of Johnny Jamcrack. A few 5.7 moves get you going. It is probably best to angle right past a bush 30 feet up into a hidden cove. From there it is an easy and scenic walk off left (about 10 minutes back to the base).
Our leader (Zak) eschued the easier right-hand finish and instead tackled the muddy flake / corner straight up to the top. The climbing is fair (5.7) and adds another 20 feet, but the suspicious rock quality makes it difficult to recommend. If you choose this top out variation you can also walk off left.
This route has certainly been climbed before. We thought it was fun enough to warrant an entry on MP.
