Description Suggest change

The Space Walk is the most classic Devil's Ladder Multi-pitch. It links 6 moderate pitches up the climber's left side of the wall.  Lucky, Bitter Berry (Variation), Laughing Boys, Enchore, space Walk, and Onion Garden. The upper pitches, though very easy, have incredible views and atmosphere and are quite enjoyable. The face is hit with golden evening light.

Pitch 1- Lucky 5.7 Trad 30m

Start at the climber's platform on the lake and climb the obvious crack starting in a shallow corner.

Pitch 2- Bitter Berry Variation- 5.9 Trad 30m

Start on a left-leaning flake/ crack to a steep wide crack. From the good rest ledge in the middle, reach out right to a great crack and up over the lip. Easy scrambling right to the end of the ledge.

Pitch 3- Laughing Boys and Enchore- 5.7 Mixed 35m

Beautiful slab climbing past four bolts to a ledge with an anchor. (top of Laughing Boys) Avoid clipping the anchor and climb a short steep face to an excellent slabby crack system to the next big ledge. Best to belay from the right-hand anchor or the tree.

Pitch 4- Space Walk and Onion Garden- 5.5 Mixed 50m

Easy but exposed traversing right, on top of the face. Clip bolts or place gear in the cracks. Pass a few anchors and continue climbing on steeper but still very cruise slab to the top. Enjoy the View and walk off!

Location Suggest change

Take the lower trail to devils ladder ending up on Arbutus Ally. Find the rappel ring anchor at the end of the ledge and rap to the bottom.

Protection Suggest change

Mixed protection. Bring a small single rack with lots of nuts and several alpine draws.
