Description
An alternative to Group Therapy for approaching the sun deck, and the rightmost Dream Wall routes (formerly the Black Wall or Animal House) this is a semi-technical ramp system that is equipped with fixed lines. This is a "via ferrata" style approach/protected scramble, not an actual sport lead.
Use the lines at your own risk and evaluate them for wear or potential rockfall damage as you go. If you notice damage please comment here.
The idea is to keep Group Therapy as a lead option or a descent option, and to have one-way uphill access to the Animal House, and Sun Deck via this ramp.
It is reasonable for multiple people to climb up it at the same time. We did our best to clean it well but this feature formed a weakness because the rock is weak! Take care with loose rock and maintain awareness of anyone below you. Wear a helmet whether on or below the ramp.
Not totally sure which area this belongs in or if it needs a route page, but be safe out there!
Location
The ramp diagonaling up and right, meeting Group Therapy and leading to the grassy ledge of the Sun Deck.
Protection
Bring a minimum of two locking tethers and plan to pass several bolts. One line has more knots to pull on and the other is meant to be clipped as protection. Feels low 5th and easier than GT when dry and without pulling on the fixed lines. When wet it's a good idea to use a handled ascender, Grigri, or other progress capture device.
