Tunnel 1 closure
For more details visit: jeffco.us/open-space/alerts…
The two areas Jefferson County Open Space intends to close in Clear Creek Canyon, shown on the attached maps, encompass the active eagle nests. If the Clear Creek eagles continue to nest in the active nests, these areas will remain closed from February 1 through July 31. If the eagles choose different nesting sites, the closures will be adjusted accordingly to protect those eagles during their breeding season.
Currently, rock climbing areas that fall inside of the seasonal raptor closures include:
Blonde Formation
Bumbling Stock
Evil Area
Ghost Crag
Highlander
Skinny Legs
Stumbling Block
Tetanus Garden
Fault Caves
Description
I didn't see this problem listed, but it's a good line and worth adding. It looks like a few different start hand holds exist, but we used the small crimp on the right side of the prow( about chest high) and a good sloper on the left side, just under the downward-facing flake. Bump to the flat, downward sidepull, cross to a good pinch before throwing up right to a good, flat edge on the sharp arete, and pull straight up. There is a good lower right hand sidepull to use before bumping to the small flat edge higher up, but eliminating it makes it a bit more challenging. I am not sure of the grade, but this could be easier or harder, depending on what holds you use.
