Details
Like many areas in the desert, the soft Dakota sandstone here is very fragile and porous, and especially so after recent rainfall - climbs could be permanently damaged or destroyed if climbed on while wet. Additionally, avoid using a wire brush to clean off lichen.
Description
Side Pocket is a right-to-left traverse that tops out merges into Pocket Route proper. Sit down start on positive, left-facing sidepulls approximately 2 feet left of the right arete. Work the features below the lip to work this technical traverse into Pocket Route.
Location
The problem is located in the Lower 7-Mile Boulders and located directly downhill from Brass Monkey. Part of the Tava Yaakwi (Sunset) Trail runs along side the backside of the boulder.
The start of the problem is to the right of the Pocket Route approximately 2 feet left of the right arete.
