Private Land-gate closed and locked by nightfall. Details
Sugarloaf is a privately owned recreation area. The park is closed at night and the gate is locked. Allow enough time to pack, hike, and drive out the oneway road to the gate before it is locked.
Description(described in Mark Kochte's Climb Maryland!). On the right side of Castle Rock there is a low roof. Downhill about 5 feet there is a thin crack; this head up the crack toward a large corner to the right of a 2 foot roof at ~30 feet.
This is a fun climb! As always, if you can't find the right holds it's harder than the grade - and there are a lot of harder holds to choose from.
LocationTo the right and ~15 feet uphill of the Castle Rock nose; downhill from small roof protruding from the hillside.
