Description Suggest change

Begin by dry tooling to get above a small overhang and then onto a verglassed slab (in late season ice is thicker as evident in the photo). Trend slightly right to better ice and then straight up into the trees. Sustained, difficult climbing for the first 2/3 of the route.

Location Suggest change

This is the first route on the north side of the Eye of the Needle that has been climbed. The easiest way to access is to follow the brook down past the Sea Monster area until you can see The Eye of the Needle. El Grotto is the second line encountered as you approach the eye.

Protection Suggest change

A rack of screws and extra balls as this is very run out near the bottom.
