Description Suggest change

A series of 4 to 6 flows, WI 2+ to WI 3, that one can stumble to from the car in a few steps!

One slightly more difficult (3+ / 4 ?) flow up higher in the woods.

The flows are on the SouthEast side of the road (regardless of what it says in "Northern New England Ice Climbs"!) and they do get the afternoon sun. Hence these are the first Grafton Notch climbs to "bake-out / melt out".

Location Suggest change

About a mile south of the AT Parking, and just a few feet north of the "Moose Cave" parking lot. Park at "Moose Cave" and wander to the flows!

This is the upper right of the "Practice Flows". It is located straight uphill from the Moose Cave Parking lot. The right side (led here by Sandor Nagy) is often the best formed, with the thickest ice for leading. photo from January 2017.

This is the "Upper Right Practice Flow". The far left side of it rarely forms thick enough for good screw placements, like it is here in February 2009. In these conditions it makes a steep and strenous (but safe to protect) lead.
