The HK government has removed bolts on several parts of Lion Rock. This includes routes on the East face (e.g., Austrian staircase), and parts of the west face as well — in particular, the upper pitches of Gweilo have been stripped. This action was in response to pro-democracy banners being hung off the cliff by protestors.
P1: Climb the prominent flake, moving right to a belay station.
P2: Follow a groove to a thin crack in a corner, continuing up and right.
Be aware of loose rock, ranging from small stuff to a very large block.
From the West Face, scramble up a short gully, turn left at the narrow passage, then follow the steep gully to the base of the East Face. Route starts at a left-facing flake, toward the right end of the wall.
Recently rebolted, with chain anchors for descent.
