No outing to Campground Boulder is complete without a lap on this classic. Climb the well worn white undercut start to a desperate mantle then finish on some interesting steep technical face moves. As a longterm local this is one of my all time favorites.

Right most route on the north face of Campground Boulder. Can be identified by the overhanging start with an obvious mantle shelf to work past. Simply a brilliant line.

Despite a nearly perfect landing, multiple pads are wise as this route is a bit of highball.

As I recall there is a bolt above this one. But working out the start with a top rope was awkward at best. Once you are above the mantle the rope helps to work out the finish.

Back in the early 90's I spent a lot of time at the Campground boulder. Lots of sore heels from this one, that was before pads. Once I had the mantle worked out I jumped off quite a few times before I broke down and put the rope on it. Once you figure it out thou it's a great problem to repeat. Nov 27, 2011
