Description

A tricky move at the start is followed by easier climbing above. This climb could really use some traffic to clean it up. It's certainly better now that Mike lowered the anchor.

Location

This is the leftmost of the Canine Wall routes. It is in a gully feature.

Protection

Bolts. Stop at the lower anchor unless you like lots of dirt and loose rock.

I gave it a two star, because this is a great beginner climb. Sure it's a little dirty, sure it's almost a staircase, but it was exactly what I was looking for to get some inexperienced friends into climbing. Great little route... and yes, I brought inexperienced friends to Rifle, so sue me. Jul 12, 2016

There is now an anchor at what used to be the second to last bolt, below the low angle, dirt-filled ledgey terrain. Bolts are still at the top of the original climb if anyone is still interested in it. Jul 19, 2011

This climb may have cleaned up some since BJ's original post. Climbed it today, and only the top was really dirty. The rest of it wasn't pristine but seemed okay. It may indeed be a slightly better climb if the anchor was at the 2nd to last bolt. Maybe it would increase the traffic, and hence cleanliness, of it? Jul 6, 2011
