Lower Main Wall/East Buttress Trails Re-opened Details

Description

This route follows a weakness with sidepulls, crimps, and occasional jugs. It is sustained, with a high crux. Follow the bolt ladder straight up. A cruxy section lies at the 6th bolt as you pull over and transition onto the slab. In my opinion, this is the best sport climb on the powerline wall. Like Lethal Weapon and Terminator, commit to the slab and run it up to the anchor. There is a rapellable 2 bolt anchor at the top.

Location

This is the direct line of bolts up the steepest portion of the wall. It starts at the lowest point on the wall.

Protection

7 bolts on route and a 2 bolt anchor

About a week ago, the ASCA replaced pro bolts 1-5 and 7 with 1/2"x2.75" SS 5-piece. Bolt 6 was a newer looking stud. The ancient rusting anchor was removed. The current anchor are new-looking studs with Metolius rap hangers. Bolt 7 was moved slightly up and left due to rock quality concerns (the old buttonhead was in a hollow flake that is approx. 3' square). Jul 29, 2011
