Start from the arete and a jug and then make balancy moves up to gain a slanting flake near the top where a mantle caps off this fun problem. Can be done from a sit start at about V0.

The downclimb is the easy crack on the backside.

  • Listed in the Joshua Tree Bouldering Guide as #78, Unknown.

I sometimes guide trips to Joshua Tree and this is a great boulder for beginners. It is easy enough to not see injuries and hard enough to challenge a beginner climber. A nice alternative to Joshua Tree's typical technical slab boulders. Great for beginners or just to have fun on. Nov 27, 2010
