A unique and fun diehedral-like climb with a fun roof finish. Lots of bolts and a good lead for a budding leader or as a warmup for the routes nearby.

The diehedral to the right of Bircham's Beach.

An alpine draw may not be a bad idea on this route. place it on the bolt just below the roof as the route moves right May 14, 2016

Not worth doing... this route has changed alot in the last few years. A very thoughtful 5.8- bring your helmetz for the sand and choss storm your leader is gonna send down on you. Sep 27, 2014

There is a huge section around the third bolt where a 4 foot flake has slowly been pulled off the route. Multiple large stones (25kg) have been pulled off this route and are displayed around the bottom. If you hit your belay partner, you will seriously injure them and yourself. Sep 15, 2014

I defer to you Mike! If anyone would know the history of this area... I believe you are the man!

Good to hear from you too! It has indeed been a very long time. Sep 7, 2013

Actually, Kenny, that jerk Mike Gray bolted an old Angie McGinnis project and in fact did the first ascent of this route (which is NOT called "Burcham's Other", as it is named in that pile of Horstshite, but is in fact "Aloha").

This is the route to the right of Burcham's Beach, which was not FA'ed by Mister Burcham but was actually put up by Begoon and Artz and company. The name refers to the fact that Burcham always claimed to be going to the beach when he was, in fact, coming to Franklin to put up new lines. Sep 6, 2013

It is named Burcham's other... after the FA John Burcham- good friend and climbing partner of mine. Aug 2, 2013

I believe the correct name for this climb is Aloha. Burcham's Other is the name from the Horst guide. Nov 21, 2008
