This is an easy way to hike to Lizardhead Boulders and minimize your impact of hiking off trail. It's about one mile from the campground parking lot to the boulders. Start in the campground parking lot and head west on The Loop Trail. After hiking on The Loop Trail for about .65 miles there is a small road for utility vehicles going to the right towards Little Dome. GPS coordinates for this little road are about 30.499402N and -98.831856W. Hike on the little road until you reach the granite for Little Dome. At this point hike generally to the north east to reach Lizardhead Boulders.
