Expect full snow. There are no webcams, but the weather station at highway level is reading at 34 inches.

Expect snow on approaches with need for ax and crampons depending.

I approached news today from the west with microspikes and trekking poles. I wouldn’t take anything different. My partner didn’t have microspikes and had no problems.

I don’t know if other areas have higher consequences if you fall, but it was fine there.

Thanks Luke, that's helpful. What did you get on the news?

Following this thread for any updates. Hoping to avoid strapping on the crampons at the end of the month.

Definitely no need for crampons at the end of July. We climbed news west face on 7/2 and didn't bring any traction devices, trailrunners were fine.

Anyone have thoughts on current conditions for clean break / rebel yell? Hoping to do a 2 day linkup of those next week.

My apologies for hijacking this thread. I’m new to the area & don’t know a lot of folks and am keen to climb more on the Pass (and other adventurous Washington climbs) this summer… PM me if you’re interested.✌️

I was up there last week and it's all accessible. Folks have been getting on both routes. No snow on either route and getting there doesn't require crampons. I'll do that link up mid week next week but you may beat me out there.

I've done both of those routes a few times and I've always brought and needed a ski pole and a set of lightweight crampons over approach shoes on the approach to and/or return from Rebel Yell (coming in from the Burgundy Col side). I've always done Clean Break coming in from Silverstar Creek and exited via the Burgundy col trail. Never needed them for that approach.  Just another data point for you.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
