This business would be wise to learn the lessons of why their predecessor went out of business, and would likely seek to not make the same mistakes. As a result, competition would remain healthy and real change would come about. Fair point

My apologies. I merely meant viewing this as a customer of Backcountry (and there, I'm more in agreement with you than you may realize), or, viewing it with an eye to the businesses they went after. Yeah, me the customer still thinks it was outrageous they did this in the first place. However, I, as a customer can indeed live without Backcountry (and I do buy as much as possible from my local guys, no price shopping), but it is my local guys who were actually damaged by this. As customers, it may offend us, but we can express our views and just walk away. But the businesses? Bottom line, the treatment of my local dudes matters more to me and overrides my opinions. Simple as that. And, your opinions are totally welcome too. That's the only way to have a conversation. Personally, I'd not flame the poor gearheads, though. Best, Helen

Ugh...gotta wonder if roadkill is on the ingredient list, eh? Lol on the "backcountry" for a cat food brand.
Since you resurrected this? I am pleased to report that Boise Gear Collective stayed sort of open by appointment through these last two months, and is now open (with cautions) again. As is most of our businesses, only day two though, of this stage of reopening. We'll see how it goes.
With the other stuff they do, BGC is also a bike shop, full service, so that side of the business suddenly exploded, with tons of people wanting bikes or service for that relic in the garage rafters!
I'm glad. They're my friends, and this has been a scary and tough stretch.
Best, Helen

Best, Helen Did they get PPP help? I know we kept several businesses from folding at my bank with those PPP funds. That and deferments.
