Thin cord tied around a sharp block and clipped to a really bad nut. The "masterpoint" is a single locker. They then clipped two quickdraws to this single locker. Also theres some creative edge protection. Looks like a drawstring bag Birch Tree Crack |

Definitely a horror show. The owner was suspicious of my claim that the whole block is detached. If you pull on a cam in that crack, that thing wiggles. (And you can get fingers under it). It did seem like a harder area to set up with no big trees, large boulders, or obvious good cracks, but a bit of static/webbing could have extended back to a monster diving board boulder and a couple reasonable cracks. |

peter graupner wrote: That’s hilarious. Like thinking “this detached block is sus, so if I cram it with enough gear, some may hold if it shifts”. That may be the genius thinking behind the loose blocks Garret pointed out. “If I brace all sides of a wobbly block with gear, is it still wobbly?” Interesting perspective. |
