Kevin, what I wouldn't pay for an full color scheme Ange rackpack... but, at least I can use the grey and blue for my #4 and #3 cams... |

I am at this trade show, I’ll go play with them this afternoon and report back. Any particular questions people want to know or want me to ask? There are also new Dragons and the larger sized Friends i’ll ask if i can get pictures of too. |

Sam Ehmannwrote: The patents show multiple "embodiments" of the stems. Any way you can inquire if it's purely for replacements for durability or if there will be different stem options that can be swapped out (flexible vs rigid, stems with direct harness attachments, etc). Also, how does the weight compare to BD ULs? Considering all the gripes about these not being innovative, I can see customizable stems being a pretty big leap forward |

Sam Ehmannwrote: Please ask about the slings, they look similar to BD's new offering but my concern there is sheath durability, if petzl uses dyneema, Hmpe, etc that would be a vast improvement. Also it would be nice if they were sold in a 60cm length. New biners (soul?) , size, weight, and RRP. |

Sam Ehmannwrote: DMM has a bunch of pictures from the trade show up on their IG stories right now. The new Dragons look like a fairly minor update, mainly just new design to the lobes: However, they also have a new cam lineup pictured with thumb loops and non-extendable slings sewn much like C4s so that they don’t flop all around, which, be still my beating heart, and take my money. |

Slim Pickenswrote: I picked up that big green cam yesterday and I was SHOCKED by how light it was. I found the stem itself to be a bit floppy, but probably just because it’s super long. |

Those new dmm cams look very exciting. The dyneema looks pretty wide and burly so should hold up well. Psyched to hear big greeny is light, hoping to pick ul a new green and purp in the next year. I hope they come out soon. |
|
|
That says 0.6 on the purp, right? Hey Sam, I’d be interested in your impressions on sizing. Does the purple seem to run a little larger than the usual suspects’ 0.5 equivalents? |
|
|
Amazing! Is it going to be an additional line-up or will it replace the current cams without thumb loop? Any indication on when these cams will be available? |

LouSakwrote: Just talked to DMM It’s 2 sets, the Dragon 3s with the thumb loop and a new cam lobe design, and Dragon Airs with no thumb loop and the old lobe design. 3s will come out in January, Airs in july. Airs have a thinner cable and longer sling than the Dragon 2s, they are quite a bit lighter. EDIT: I hit my post limit I started a new thread, info about the petzl cams is there |

Sam Ehmannwrote: Thanks a lot for the response! When you mean January / July, you mean 2027? Dang, can't wait. Can you ask about the rating (kN) of the new Dragon 3s? The Dragon 2 are rated quite stronger than the competitor in the smaller size, 14kN for the silver and purple. Will the Dragon 3 or the Dragon Airs retain that advantage? |

Sam Ehmannwrote: Are there any sort of trigger keepers on the larger Dragon cams? (similar to the BD or new WC prototypes that have been floating around) From the pictures it doesn't appear to me, but wasn't sure if I was missing something. |

I wouldn't be surprised if Petzl is putting out a vanilla BD imitation cam as an initial beach-head product before rolling out more innovative cams down the line. I also love that someone at DMM got to play with their topology optimization software. |
