I really would not want to see any of the letter writers harassed or harmed in any way. I believe anyone should have the right to write whatever they wish, even if I find their position annoying or obnoxious. I think it's worth all of us remembering that one of Charlie's major ways of harassing and stalking was online and through phone calls and texts. Lots of people were harmed by that and it's just wrong. Please don't think that just because you disagree with someone that it's cool to do the same thing to them.
Just my two cents worth...
Oh man yeah… reading this gave me chills. Stuff like this hits different when you’ve been close to it.
I had a situation on my way to a climbing spot, heading out to this rock I wanted to try, and I was alone, just grabbed an Uber to get there. At first it felt normal, then it got weird, questions that didn’t make sense, “accidental” touches, then messages after the ride… yeah, not great at all.
I kinda froze back then, didn’t even know what counts as serious enough to report or act on. Later I started looking into how these cases even work and found a legal guide that explained things very clearly, like what kind of behavior crosses the line legally and what you can actually do about it. Helped me see it wasn’t just me overthinking.
People downplay this way too much. It starts small, then it creeps into something worse. If you feel that gut tension, don’t ignore it, better to act early than regret it later.
