But will the tools come by to YOUR party and tell us to be quieter because we're keeping the climbers awake on El Cap like they did to MY birthday party?? Bwah ha ha ha ha! We can only hope!!! 🍺 🍻 🍺 🍻 🍺 🍻 I can only immediately recall two bivies where I slept on hooks - Kahuna Kahuna Ledge on Aquarian Wall and the Great White Shark on Tempest/Atlantis. But I'm sure there have been more! 🪝

A few points on what constitutes an El Cap Route, in my opinion: - I fully agree with the sentiment that routes left of Lurking Fear don’t count. I think this should extend to all routes left of the Nose (inclusive) being classified as El Cap* routes (*west side). These routes aren’t necessarily invalid, but are in general less cool than east side routes.
- To be an El Cap route it must be a grade VI. This grade should be calculated by the fastest time, not the average. That means, for example, the Nose is grade III and not a true El Cap route. Freerider is also third class and doesn’t count. That means it’s impossible to climb El Cap in a day, since as soon as you do the route becomes no longer an El Cap route.
- If a route has seen more than 10 ascents, that also disqualifies it from being a proper El Cap route.
- If a route is shorter than 2500’ it’s not an El Cap route
- If there are any pitches on the route that have been free climbed, it’s not a true El Cap route
- If a route has more than 50 holes (belays inclusive) it doesn’t count.
- It’s not a proper El Cap route if it has a traverse or downclimb
- Ascents in a team of 3 or more are invalid
- Ascents that take over 10 days are invalid
- Use of fixed lines invalidates an ascent
- Use of wall gloves invalidates an ascent
- Use of free shoes/chalk invalidates an ascent
- Use of general free climbing technique invalidates an ascent (free climbing is ok at points as long as it doesn’t look pretty and you don’t free an entire pitch)
Please adjust your totals accordingly…

Any ascent without beer is invalid. 🍺 🍻 So .... we didn't go to Puerto Vallarta last week. Instead we are off to the D.R. on Tuesday, so if you get me your book order TONIGHT which is Sunday or else first thing tomorrow, I can get your book out to you in Monday's courier. Please message me through this website.

There's a reason I've never spent money towards his stories he shoehorned into Fabio's book. I doubt that MP will be as amenable to believe those people that have had the courage to share their experiences over the years.

I think Brandon said it well in the linked thread: Brandon Adamswrote:PTPP has a long history of being a narcissist creepy poser. Just avoid him. He lives for attention, dont give it to him. Ill never understand the crew that looks up to him. Just because he sprays the loudest doesn't mean hes a good climber or (certainly and most importantly) a good person. Hopefully he'll soon realize that hes a has-been and just stop coming to Yosemite.

Edit: I am Editing my post because this is not about, don’t climb with Pete Thread. It’s about Pete praying on woman. Read previous posts. Like Helen’s Post, Steve Shneider’s post, and Brandon Adam’s post. I am not going to read every friggin post. Don’t have time and don’t want or need to. I have Known Pete since 2001. I always knew he was a kook, but really didn’t care. And through the years I have heard rumor’s and hear say. And the brief time I have actually hung out with him, I knew him as a womanizer. Anyways; Our Sport has no room for misogyny. Respect Boundaries!!!! And don’t be a “internet climber”. Peace out ✌️.

Pete, the hardest thing for a Narcissist to do is face the consequences of their actions. Admit to and face your problems and make amends to your community as best as you can.

There are 12-Step programs for this. Try Googling Sexaholics Anonymous, Sex Addicts Anonymous, Sexual Recovery Anonymous, Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous, etc. That, along with a good therapist has been helpful for “a friend” and it could work for you, too.
