https://www.youtube.com/live/WsyexSBYOvs Above video is the post event interview. Edit: Adding this video below. I hear that in the live broadcast, the hosts talked too much that it got annoying. This video has very little commentary. I like it this way. |

Its so funny to read all the trolls diss alex. From the comfort of their homes, if they have one. You choose to troll, Alex chooses to climb. You (maybe) work for a living. He climbs for a living. |

I was excited about it happening, but found the actual event to be a let down. The whole thing was an endurance event, not that that isn't a real thing, and you could see that he was definitely pumped, but it wasn't very exciting to watch IMO. I find Alex to be naturally entertaining when he is talking about his life decisions and philosophy and have nothing but respect for him, but I found it weird when he was trying to be entertaining to the crowd during the climb. He seemed totally out of his element. I imagine that he felt that that was part of the deal and it probably was, but I think that I would have enjoyed it more if he was totally silent and in his own world without all of the communication going on. I'm happy for Alex that he was able to do it and get paid for it, all on Netflix' dime. |

This was a great job for lots of folks. |

The heel-toe cam was my favorite moment. He didn’t even cheese it up, just shook for a sec and kept going. Meanwhile the commentatrix absolutely lost her schist. |

I think that the soot on the building was a significant problem. The soles of his shoes started out bright yellow and were a dark grey during the climb you could see that when he tried to clean them the soot was hard to remove and he settled for just cleaning the toes. I would also imagine that it was building up on his hands and the chalk was probably more useful as a barrier to the soot than for moisture reduction. |

Great business decision. I can't imagine the amount of money he got for doing that. |

Tyler Lappetito wrote: You don't know the first thing about my dreams, son, lol. Whatever the wisdom of commercial fishing it at least is not a paid clown show for gawking morons to sell caffeinated sugar garbage, which formerly would have been the antithesis of anything Alex claimed he for once stood for. "hur hur hur he got paid." What price integrity and dignity? What part of this farce is consistent with environmental goals that Alex apparently pretends to profess? Red Bull is a sponsor of the most environmentally degrading sports on Earth. "Who cares, he got paid..." |

And so there we have it. Honnold lives another day, collects a paycheck, is still a father and husband, the world got a spectacle, and we all just comment from the sidelines. |

Mikey Schaefer wrote: Should have totally risked it! What happened to YOLO, Mikey?! Seriously though, can you please ask AH to post his heart rate graph to his IG since he was tracking with an armband monitor? I don't care to know how much he's paid, and I already know the secret to his success -- the 8 chocolate dumplings he ate for breakfast. All I want to see is the heart rate graph for those 91 minutes. Making it public would be the biggest gift to humanity... okay, maybe just a handful of data nerds like me, but still... |

Maybe somebody can clear this up: did I misunderstand or did Elle Duncan credit Emily Harrington as being the first woman to free climb El Cap in less than 24 hours? Lynn Hill anyone? |

Why do you two keep bringing up Red Bull? If Red Bull had any involvement in this, they sure did a piss poor job of getting their sponsorship dollars worth. |
