Like many others before us, we are trading out cracks for crackers this season, and looking for a mellow place to get a couple of kids (2-3yo) out on the rock. Ideally something with a short approach, and easy top rope access. Honestly even large slabby boulders would be fine if we can scramble up and build an anchor (schoolroom style), mostly just want to make sure they have fun and it’s away from the Wall Street chaos, since we’ll likely have more than enough of our own between a few families. Sunshine wall / 313 slabs seem like the obvious choice for the whole gang, just wondering if anyone else has beta! Close to town is obviously great, but we’ve all got 4x4 and happy to get out and spend the day somewhere. Cheers and happy fall!
313 is the way. If you think you can keep the kids from hucking themselves off the cliff, The Stage and Cinema could work. if you don't care about it being "climbing" then you can go romp around Funnel/Cable Arch. There's options to climb the low-5th class ramp to access the top, good views of wall street and Arches, a chimney you can walk into after a simple 6' climb, some rock art nearby, and plenty of scrambling around up water courses, also a slightly harder slab that's bolted (albeit runout). No rapping on the arch, but you can use the anchors nearby to get back down.
