I need help for a school project

Can you list your ape index and the grade you climb, Yosemite scale, preferably? You can list either your lead or your highest grade. I'm doing a stats class project. |

+3, 12+ Kinda fun, if you find any statistical significance based on just the 2 variables let me know! |

"Grade you climb" needs to be better defined. I know some people who can redpoint 5.12, but call themselves 5.10 climbers because they can't onsight every 5.12. I also know people who call themselves 5.12 climbers who have only redpointed a handful of 5.12s in their whole careers. |

Cory Bwrote: This sounds like an interesting topic to dive in to, especially if bouldering is included. From my observations, process oriented individuals seem to fit into your first group, while outcome/goal oriented individuals often fall into the latter. 0”, 5.10,v6 edit: max sport .12c, max sport flash .11d, max gear .12b, max gear flash .11+, max boulder v9, max boulder flash v5, 15 grade 6 walls, max ice wi5, first ascent gear .12, first ascent onsight gear .10+, onsight free solo 5.8. I claim 5.10, v6 as what I climb because I’ve been solid at these ratings for almost 30 years. |

+1.5, 12b/c Beyond the questions posed above, this presents a fun statistical conundrum: Is YDS grade a linear continuous variable (10b-10a = 11b-11a), an exponential function (akin to pH, which innocent statisticians frequently treat as linear), or an ordinal variable (5.11 is harder than 5.10, but we can't/won't quantity that difference)? I don't think there's a single good answer other than "YDS is subjective". |

+1.5, 12b/c, V8, you could also mine Kaya for this data as peoples profile lists their ape and their highest grade. |

+2. Hardest trad onsite flash, 5.12b. Hardest repoint, 5.12a. Hardest led/fell/hung, 5.11d. All of those from 1981. In Yosemite Valley. Hardest trad follow, 5.11c. Ass backwards yes, but true. I thought this might screw with your project. 🙂 |

+2”, Hardest onsight 12c, Hardest redpoint 12c, Hardest Trad redpoint 12a, Hardest Boulder v8. Because your data set is voluntary, it will be heavily skewed by braggadocio. I think cataloguing height would also be relevant info (6’1”). As well as weight (178lbs). And age (43). I feel like AI may be able to do your project for you. |
