Where is this rock?

I'm guessing Squamish, but only from other pictures I've seen, like this one on mountainproject :

I don't know but this Emancipator album cover ( safe in the steep cliffs ) looks like a cat laying on its side with one eye open. My daughter who is a genius pointed this out to me. I post her quirky finding here for posterity. Ha.

Wondering the same thing, and love that this question is on Mountain Project. Could it be granite in the Sierras?

It's not Squamish.

Looks like UK to me for some reason. I can't look at that without seeing the cat now.

Maybe in Europe? Looks like scotland, but too large for that I think and wrong tree type.

I’m just here to say that SITSC is an awesome album, as are the rest of the catalog. The remixes album is fire

Realize this is a very old, reborn thread... but I'll reach out to Emancipator and ask him.  It's quite possible he just used a stock photo and may not even know.

Such a great album. I don’t know where the cover is but I’d guess Europe

My guess is Pisissarfik in Greenland. The first song on the album is "Greenland" so I searched for cliffs there.

9 years later and I still wonder about this.
Looking at google maps, Pisissarfik didn't look quite right, not enough trees.

Hægefjell, Norway?

I looked on on google earth after posting it and I have to agree, the colors dont look quite right either (although I guess that could depend on time of day/season.) Weird how few pics of it there are online too.

Misty Fjords seems believable:

Not a lot of help, but here's what he gave

I feel like we should know where it is to have that big of granite rock in southern Oregon/North CA, but anyway, nice work!

I've spent an unhealthy amount of time trying to solve this. I'm just stupid like that. I like crosswords too.

Ended up looking through hundreds of tripadvisor pictures of Misty Fjords, Alaska. While I couldn't pinpoint the exact spot with the cat's eye I'd be willing to bet the picture is taken somewhere in that area.

I think I found it!

This is a photo from a review of a Misty Fjords cruise from 3 years ago: hollandamerica.com/en/us/cr…

I think the Emancipator photo is taken from a spot that is closer to the wall but to climber's right of the photo above.

Here are some visual markers for comparsion:

Edit: and here is a photo from Trip Advisor of the same formation: https://dynamic-media-cdn.tripadvisor.com/media/photo-o/0f/d4/e5/ce/mountain-in-misty-fjord.jpg?w=1000&h=-1&s=1

That looks like it for sure. Emancipator is based out of Portland so I was thinking maybe somewhere up near Darrington but it didn't look familiar.

Great detective work, Anthony, thanks-

Like Kevin above, I wondered if it were something in Washington, as it does have similar foliage and weather.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
