Taughannock Falls - rappel assistance needed - Drone retrieval
|
|
Hello, this may be a long shot, but I lost a drone near Taughannock Falls after a bird attacked it. It is a custom drone witha gopro and means a lot to me. I have a video and a location where it fell (in a bush along the stream, far enough not to be swept away), but I am unable to get down there and get it. I was wondering if any climbers who live around that area are willing to meet up and rappel down to the stream to help retrieve it. I can compensate for the effort. |

Sounds like there is one less drone out there not disturbing wildlife and humans. |

|
How can I get one of these birds? |

Rappelling and rock climbing are not allowed in Taughannock Falls State Park. Neither are drones without the proper permit. |

"Visitors are required to stay on designated trails..." So, Valerie is correct. I wouldn't risk being cited for anyone's drone. |

Roman Hwrote: Sorry. Looking at the other responses, your drone and GoPro are permanently abandoned. |

Your drone sleeps alone. |

Happy for the bird!!! |

Hopefully the bird didn't get hurt. |

Also the cliffs at Taughannock are shale, it crumbles in your hand and the area has seen serious rockfall before. If you rappel and kick the wrong rock you could hurt yourself, someone else, and/or mess up a nice natural area. Do not try this. |
