Hey everyone! I'm moving to the Wicker Park area and looking for climbing partners in the city. I’d like to climb in the gym and outdoors, and I’ve got gear—rope, draws, pads, you name it. I'm always up for weekend trips and plan to be at the Pilgrimage at Holy Boulders this fall.

Welcome to Chicago! Sadly I'm about to move out of town but I thought I'd reply to suggest that you check out the Chicago Mountaineering Club. I've made some really great and competent climbing friends (many women) through the club. I will say that you might have to endure a little mansplaining to find the cool people but I found it worth it. To join you have to go on three of their top roping trips but plenty of members trad climb and boulder and ice climb and hang out at the gym at other times and even if you don't need someone to take you top roping (I didn't), it's a good way to meet people.
