Non violent solution to Bluetooth speakers at crag

I share your anti-speaker sentiment! Though asking people to turn off their music is non-violent too. :) |

All the more reason to SMASH THE BLUETOOTH SPEAKER. That is all. Good day. |

There are no "non-violent" methods that would ever deter the entitled class. Anyone who has to be "told" to turn off their speakers in the wilderness, is already beyond the reach of learning or responding to what is appropriate or not in trampling on others experience. I do find that the violent methods appear to reap favorable results. Not a scientific study, just anecdotal as most everything is on these forums. |

Dow Williamswrote: I disagree. I have on many many occasions told people to turn their Bluetooth speakers off in Joshua tree and they have always done so. However, I have never had the balls to ask a boulderer to turn off the speaker in a bouldering area as I kind of feel like it’s more of the wild west out there. |

Guys just connect to the speaker and play bad touch by the bloodhound gang. |

There would be no confrontation if people would leave them at home, along with the dog. |

Dow Williamswrote: Dude, what an internet tough guy approach. Whether or not you are as tough as touted on your self blowing bullhorn, you should just be a normal fucking human first and ask if the party wouldn’t mind turning their speaker down or off. It costs you nothing, unless your whole social approach is to never show an inch of give. Shit, I’ll fess to a phase where I thought my friends might like my music more than they did. They just said normal human shit, like “do you mind turning off the music?” Lo and behold, it worked! The passive-aggressive Bluetooth blocker is kinda cool too. I wouldn’t worry about fucking up somebody on an insulin pump, I’m guessing they’d figure out they’re not getting signal. |

Jon Hartmannwrote: You are doing a terrible job of being an internet tough guy. I beat the snot out of anyone that has a Bluetooth speaker at the crag. I don’t even ask them to turn it off; just walk up and start wailing on them. If they’re belaying at the time, sucks to be on the other end of that rope. Then me and me droogs go to the milk bar. |

You'd probably get shot, stabbed, or beaten just for asking someone to turn down their speaker. |

I bet OP is more interested in disabling a particular Bluetooth device, not all Bluetooth devices. I am quite sure one could find more apps, but these are unlikely to be on either Google/Apple app stores and might need sideloading with all the caveat emptor disclaimers |
