elastic keychain for nut tool
|

do any of you know where to buy them? Amazon shows them for under $2 but were out of stock when I checked recently I don't want to nut tool + elastic, just the elastic keychain thx for any leads |

The Chinese shopping sites will most likely have them - AliExpress, temu, dhgate, etc. Amazon just gets the same stuff as they get. If in US, I believe they're all back up and working again. |

Beware of the length of the elastic. I did end up buying one from AliExpress, but it is not long enough. At full extension it just about goes to my chest, so it isn't usable for actually reaching out to a nut unless you're basically waist level with it. |

Get some 1/2" tubular webbing, some 1/8" bungee and a couple split key rings. Run the bungee through the webbing, sew the ends to the rings. |

You could just buy wild country’s prefab, nut tool included for about 15 bucks. |

You don't need it |

For something elastic like you're looking for I have used a stronger steel wire elastic. The ones I got are "Heavy Duty Fishing Lanyards" for fishing poles. If you'll utilize them for other functions the price isn't bad... but, for the cost of a good pack of them I think you should just get the WC nut tool with lanyard and save your original nut tool to hand to friends. |

https://rockytalkie.com/products/rocky-talkie-leash Rocy talkie bungie leash. The clip on the end does sometimes spontaneously unclip from the nut tool, haven't bothered enough to fiddle with it yet (probably drill a small hole in end of tool and re-crimp leash termination...thats a task for another day). WC leash is the best as it's permanently inatalled, but I liked my metolius nut tool better (I often use the wrench feature to tighten nuts on bolts) |

I have one of these in the bootie bin to give away. Someone wanted it so it is now on its way to a new home. |

I've also got one I'd give away for the price of shipping. It only goes out 20 inches. |

This is one of those things that seems like a good idea but actually kinda sucks in practice. Just use a sling when you need it. |

richard aikenwrote: search ”tool lanyard“ in amazon or eBay and you should get tons of results with all different style, lengths, colors, etc. These are very common in the construction industry so there are tons of options out there. |

The fly fishing net lanyards with a magnetic coupler work nicely. |
