Things that give you "the ick"

So no one here knows where the name "alpine draw" , or "alpine quickdraw", came from???

I do believe I know where the name "cordelette" came from. Maybe make a trade???

Non-specific and/or non-climbing related political discussions on MP. This is a place for our hobby; it’s supposed to be welcoming to all and centered on a thing we all love.

Trumpers still give me the ick. as do folks who sit on the fence and allow our country to be hijacked by ignorant racist fascist jerks. 

The real ick is the over privileged white liberal college students.

The ~2.7 million voters that swayed the election made a specific choice, and definitely did not sit on the fence. If they had had another, more intriguing alternative, they might well have gone that way.

Who coined the term "alpine draw"?

Does anybody know? Anybody have a guess?

beginners and gym climbers started saying it, then a lot of them became "real" climbers and kept saying it

Eh, I am not buying that. Going out on a limb, but if I had to guess,  I would say Marc Chauvin. Or Alan Jolley, or a collaboration of the two. But it's just a hunch. I don't know. 

I have never seen Marc's book. Maybe the answer, or a clue, is in there. 

Anybody know? And willing to say?

Don’t get caught in the black and white bs. When uoi start making claims off the deep end and acting crazy then you look like you’re being controlled by political elites. But I agree I do not like that useless pile of orange trash.

putting anchor carabiners on bolts that have chains or quicklinks in them. There's enough space for one link in there and you're going to get something stuck. Put the locker in the quicklink itself.

I mean the "every view or enemy aspect" for sure... the intersectionality-purity test on one side continues to increase.  Seeing polls like this adds a lot of weight to the concept that one side is boiling down to a really concentrated bucket of crazy
