Hey all, looking for a nice compact, wooden grip for hanging/pulling just with one hand at a time. Smaller the better and just looking for something simple with 1-3 edges 10-20mm.

Thanks yall

The lattice mini bar is very compact, it has 10mm and 20mm though switching between them is somewhat annoying. The other common option is the tension block.

Their stuff looks cool, though expensive. How do you find the texture aluminum to train on?

I've been a big fan of the tindeq edge thingy - it loads flat and evenly, and has enough edges for warming up and training. Smaller than a tension block

Those are nice! Is the backing plate steel or aluminum? How did you bend it?

I really like the Lattice MXL Edge. The ergonomic edge is really comfortable.

Stainless steel. Aluminum would deform. Had the plates made at SendCutSend here in reno. The lighter wood is V2 with 1/8” instead of 3/16” like V1. Weight difference is huge. I just like the stack height when connected to a nylon sling with a carabiner for warming up compared to a tension block. Just a simple edge too, since pockets seem dumb when you can just take fingers off. Put the bend in so it stays incut feeling until you have choked down on the edge to about 5mm on.

Etsy has some affordably priced models.  Tension and other brands stuff is spendy.  If you own a drill and a saw (handsaw will even do), you can make one.  Tons of ideas of you google something like "homemade finger training block edges".  One way, for example, is to use a piece of plywood or other engineered lumber for the "base plate" and make edges from scrap moulding/trim pieces that you can get for free at a local millwork/lumber store.

The NUG is very small, with 4 edge sizes

A biased opinion, but check out our JUSTboard!

You can make the base yourself with designs from this vid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FXcwhcY7S7w

Or you can cut the base board (just a french cleat) to whatever size you need.

If you're only looking for one edge per size, let me know at willy@theoreticalclimbing.com, and we can work something out!

@bugboy pm me your address, if you want anything wood burned on it, and I'll send a defect of the ones I make. Still works fine just not pretty.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
