Thanks for the heads up Mike! Though looks like it's only for Memorial day weekend in May, and then every day for the summer.

From the YNP website:

A reservation will be required to drive into or through Yosemite National Park on some days from May 24 through September 1, 2025, for those driving into the park between 6 am and 2 pm as follows:

  • Through May 23: A reservation is not required at any time.

  • May 24 through May 26 (Memorial Day weekend): A reservation is required from 6 am to 2 pm on Saturday through Monday.

  • May 27 through June 14: A reservation is not required at any time.

  • June 15 through August 15: A reservation is required from 6 am to 2 pm every day.

  • August 16 through August 29: A reservation is not required at any time.

  • August 30 through September 1 (Labor Day weekend): A reservation is required from 6 am to 2 pm on Saturday through Monday.

Seems like a more moderate version of last year's. I like the easier access, we'll see if it still does enough to cut down on traffic

Based on Easter/school Spring-break parking shenanigans there will be more restricted weekends/timed-entries.

Will pricing be used in the future to moderate overuse of prime-time?

If tickets and towing are used aggressively will vehicles parking within the traffic lane disappear? (ie blocking one of two lanes thereby creating bottlenecks)

If public transit such as buses big and small were to become the only entrance transport during peak hours where will the other vehicles park? Entrance towns? Cities (1-2 hrs away)?

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
