Definition of Free Climbing

For some reason unknowledgeable climbers get triggered when you try to nicely point out what Free Climbing is. Why is that even a thing? Seems like most people’s only experience with the climbing world is “Free Solo” and they always ask if I free climb. I usually ask if they want the long (real) answer- difference in free and aid- or the short answer- something like “I climb with ropes if that’s what you mean”. 13 Flag Quote
