Collared long sleeve shirt with SPF protection
|
Anybody know of or have a favorite collared, long sleeve shirt tailored for warm / hot conditions and with decent SPF protection? |

I wore an older version of patagonia sun stretch shirt for many hours of desert hiking, and full sun in the high sierra, and never got burnt. Also wore it on a boat. Put the collar up often to protect my neck. The one I had had double layer fabric on the shoulders which withstood pack straps really well. |

I recently bought one of these OR Astroman shirts. I’ve only worn it to work, but super soft, stretchy and cool. I’ll definitely climb in it when the weather swings back that way. SPF 30. |

White dress shirt at the thrift. Cheap, easy to replace when thrashed. Doesn't consume new materials. |

I too buy button down shirts at the thrift store, but also buy them quite a bit larger than my standard size and take them in in girth. I am about a medium, but buy XL. They are long enough, and with attention to detail with the taper sewn from the side up into the armpit, can allow a lot of arm range of movement without pulling out of your britches/harness when reaching high. One of these days I plan to make some with a hood. (I can't stand stretchy sun hoodies... yuck). |

I use inexpensive long sleeved collared shirts. Thin and cotton poly blend. The more expensive hiking shirts with vents and pockets and anti-bug or UV advertisements are also nice, but my hi-vis vest has all the pockets I need and a $20 shirt will last a few years before it turns into rags. It gets upper 90s hot where I am but no humidity. https://9apps.ooo/ |

Long sleeve Pearl snaps made of cotton. Western stores have them or thrift stores in more agricultural areas will have them. |
