Bouldering in Sintra

Hi all, I am going to be in Lisbon for a week and am curious about the logistics of bouldering in Sintra.

Does anyone have any recommendations for boulder crags with a dense packing of routes which would be good for a first time visit.

Are there any logistical tips I should know of (getting there, approach, etc.)

Thanks!

When I went there I hired a guide (boulder Sintra is their name I think) and it really helped find our way around

Hired a guide too, way easier on logistics and finding good problems instead of wandering around (an albeit beautiful) eucalyptus jungle!

And Diego is great!

It's such a cool place, you won't be disappointed.

Went on a weekend trip to Lisbon last December. The weather was perfect so I took the train to Sintra for a quick boulder sesh with one of the locals. We checked out Mecca and met this crew from super nice crew from California. We joined forces, stacked pads, and had one of the best outdoor sessions I've ever had.

If you haven't gone yet, definitely check out Sintra. This is my second time there, and I can't wait to go back.

Sintra is very cool but you definitely need a car to get around the different areas. I would suggest mecca for a first area. Lots of routes close together of all grades. There is a guidebook which is very good. I would reccomend the Boulder Sintra tour guides. They will make it worth your time if you dont have much to spare.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
