While Bill's gripe may be a tad salty (though I agree with him mostly), he's earned a little more respect than that.  You would've climbed a lot of his routes if you could climb harder, but looking at your ticks*, it makes sense now.

Could've made your point without being a snarky little shit

Someone piss in your cheerios this morning?

It has actually been a stressful day, but also kinda lame to talk down to an old guy not seeing the nuance of tech.

Either way I'm in his camp where it's annoying to see tick after tick of lead/fell/hung taking up a ton of space on a page for punting.

You know better than most I don't come here to fluff egos and play nice though

Refer to second comment in my post.

It’s really not that deep. Like I said in my initial comment my “ticks*” are a log. I’m not claiming to have sent a route just because I have ticked it, it’s just for me to keep track of what I’ve climbed and how many times.

Now I think it would be a different story if every one of my ticks said onsight/flash/redpoint and I claimed to have “sent” all the routes when I had been hanging or fallen. Sure if you just look at someone’s bar chart on their account the ticks get misrepresented (my sport 12as or harder free routes I’ve aided are a prime example) but if you look at the notes I’m not trying to pretend I’m better than I am.

talk about irony…

I hate when people DON’T tick a route they sent. I wanna know everyone who’s touching my project.

Speaking of ticks, people who don't seem to understand the basic definitions

I've seen everything

People who tick "lead flash" multiple times on the same route

People who tick "lead fell/hung" and then "lead flash"

People who I belayed and know for a fact that they did not flash it ticking "lead flash"

Even worse, people who I belayed and know for a fact that they did not send it ticking "lead redpoint"

Just ticking "lead" making it ambiguous as to whether you sent

People who downrate a route without actually redpointing it

Maybe these two newcomers to the gym climbers lexicon have not been listed:
Day Flash
Backstep
(using this to describe your leg being behind the rope. Call it by its TRUE name.... Fuckstep)
