If were voting, which were not I'd vote to keep this one alive.  Its in the same location as previous ones to simplify it a little bit.

What I like about this thread is it has NO deals in it. Perhaps we include really BAD deals, like any non sale item from REI?

No need for REI non sales items as their sales are such poor deals these days. Example, Osprey Chalk bag for $18.73. 25 Percent off they say, or only slightly more than others regular price. Lol

How about this "deal." No better deal than buying a single BD nut for $43.

Now, THAT is a BAD deal. They seem to have a cam at the same price. Item 5JFFJ. So... can we please officially change the thread name?

First good deals of the season, courtesy of REi'esque offspring of Dick's Sporting Goods. Follow the link, it's already sorted by best % off.

Some of the unbelievable deals on harneses. Like $22 for the most comfortable harness ever - Wildcountry Session. Or kit with harness+carabiner+Pilot belay device for the price less than Pilot's msrp.

Climbing shoes are mostly too small/large, except for Mythos Eco and Testarosa

Just paid $75 for an 8.7 mammut dry treated rope. TBD what the length is but the MSRP suggests that it is a 70m... $25 BD ultralight cam

Haven’t found many deals under the “price shown in cart” on LS shoes but, as poster above mentioned, the Mythos (at least in small sizes) were $37.50. Can’t pass that up…

Edit: some models have multiple colors, eg, the TX4 evo. Select the grey model (not the cool “retro” colorway) to get the sale price of $42 for a $160 pair of approaches. Would recommend trying this when the size you select doesn’t seem to hit the sale price in cart.

They also have pretty good approach/hiking shoes from LS for $42 with plenty of sizes. And Salewa approach shoes for approx the same price. Salewa is great, but mostly for the narrow fit. Laspo is universal

They’ve also got the 2.5L MSR reactor for $77.50

ETA: there’s also a 15%off coupon if you give them an email address that stacks on top of sale prices. I got 2 pairs of tx4s for $72 total.

I ordered two cams and they cancelled it a day later. Same thing happened to a friend. Seems like they don’t want to honor their price.

EDIT: I got refunded and they still gave me the cams. Same thing happened to all my friends. So seems like got free 0.4 ultralights!

I also ordered a UL #.4. It was on the 20th, and they canceled it the next day. Yet, I just received the item with a shipping receipt from Dick’s sporting goods. Strange???

Another free cam here.  I still haven't received the other thing I ordered and for which they charged met, though...  What a weird, happy, screwup.

ETA: I received the running pack I ordered, so just a totally free cam, I guess.

Careful. I found that the website is declining credit cards most of the time. When it declines a card, it also un-applies the coupon code (and for me, removed item from the cart) in the process. So if you retry the payment without re-entering the coupon, then you'll end up paying full price. Just double check the order total and cart contents before you click "buy".
