With the two devices inline with one another have you run into issues with them bumping into each other? I was working an overhung route a few weeks ago on a TRS and found it fiddly to keep my back up and main device separated. Basically when you hunch/bend your toros the devices get closer no?

This was an issue with Skot's slings, I have moved to using the big wall chest rig and have not had issues with that. I'm also very tall. YMMV.

Can’t speak for Ricky but I had a similar setup going with the Revo and fuse for a hot minute and definitely had this issue. It’s part of the reason I switched to a side or back  mounted fuse rather than a chest mounted revo

Curious to see how you do this. Also curious on how you manage with the Vergo. Do you mod it to keep it feeding cleanly except for a fall? It’s a finicky device

The Revo/fuse didn’t pan out

the Vergo you mod by plucking out the thumbpad and plastic clip. Then you put it on climber-side-down and hold the Vergo upright with cord tied through the hole where the thumb pad was. I might get out on the Vergo/fuse setup this weekend, if so I’ll document it and post here

Well, here to report

vergo fuse worked very well except for my rope twisting all to hell (not sure if it already was or if it’s the geometry of my setup)

also happy to report I had an inverted fall. Fell on an ancient piton and #1 ballnut, bounced on a ledge, and flipped upside down. Vergo doesn’t catch inverted falls. Fuse activated at 2m/s and acted like a brake hand, simultaneously braking, setting me upright, and activating the Vergo. Spooky, but proof of concept!

Some updates to my rigging. This is a very good effective and efficient LRS system if I do say so myself

Nice! So is there a reason to prefer the fuse to the revo? Also how is taking up slack with the Vergo on the primary? I have an overhung route I’m projecting and this seems like a cool idea but I would definitely like to be able to do some controlled takes.

Fuse locks sooner than the revo without modification, you can load the rope into it without removing it from the carabiner (same reason I use the turbolock rather than trax), and it moves some the of clutter from your chest (where the Revo would need to be) to your hip (where your rack would be). Moving the clutter to you rack just means you have to adjust how you rack up for trad but doesn’t matter much for sport.

And taking up slack is just as easy if not easier than with the grigri. Grab rope in front of chest on the fuse side

Apologies for bumping an older thread but in hopes that Jared sees this - is that a chest harness you bought or made yourself? Looks like a nice middle ground between a full on padded chest harness and my current Brent B inspired / homemade chalk bag straps X-harness.
