edit: since this pic doesn’t give many context clues, here’s another shot of the same climb

Kinda looks like the Hulk in the back.

Are you on the Incredulous Bulk?

You’re up. I believe this is actually a last pitch “variation” called the sneezes of 10,000 butterflies, even though I’ve never talked to anyone who hasn’t finished it this way.

Yeah when you’re at that belay and look up at that splitter I don’t know why you would go any other way.

Here’s the next one:

Price Glacier?  Conditions are always changing on such routes.

Not Price Glacier, not in North America. Obviously glacial conditions change pretty drastically. This photo is from over 20 years ago so it may not look like this anymore but it’s a distinctive section of this classic route.
I will post another pic if it’s stumping folks for too long.

Ok here’s another view. This is just above the serac section in the previous photo.

Wow I didn’t mean to derail the thread. This route is on the highest peak of its range which is in the birthplace of alpinism.

Peuterey Ridge

Not Peuterey Ridge but it is on the Italian side of Mont Blanc

I don’t know if this is the first time a route couldn’t be identified but I’m sorry for throwing up such a bugaboo. I honestly thought it would go quickly after posting that second photo. The route in question is the Brenva Spur.

Here’s a different one from closer to home. Bonus points if you can identify the climber.

You got it Jon.

That’s Fred leading the first pitch in 2006. He raced up it so fast I could hardly feed the rope out fast enough!

Maybe we need to start a Name that Climber thread!
