Crack Pullup Trainers
|
Was at the Tensleep Rock Ranch in the first half of July this year, and somebody had some awesome adjustable, portable, crack pullup trainers set up at the public desk space. Anyone know where he got/how he built these? Or the name of the person who designed them? Really enjoyed how they felt, and seems like an awesome option to have for training. |

Graham, On mobile, and don’t typically post so hopefully the attached photo is actually attached. If not I’ll upload it to drive and post a link. These look similar to kind that I built. Not sure if those were purchased or built. But I made mine with two sheets of plywood, four 8” bolts if I recall correctly, corresponding nuts and washers, and four springs. The springs are slightly unnecessary but they keep the crack open and are more convenient than nuts inside the crack. This crack goes from sizes as small as thin hands with the springs in (or slammed shut without them) and as wide as hand/fist stacks. I also put some 80 grit sandpaper inside because I find that my skin gets torn up more on bare wood when my hands slide. No sliding on sandpaper. Hope this helps. I think they’re pretty fun, and I’ve found that I can adjust them to make a flaring crack, parallel, or constricting to make it real easy. Nate |
