Great deals on bolts, hangers, and other hardware

Bryan Kwrote: I've got some 1/2" hole stainless Climbtech hangers for $2 each plus shipping. |

Lots. More than the rock on the Highway 50 corridor could handle. I might have as many as a thousand. I'm out of town climbing with limited coverage, so may take me awhile to see posts here. |

Anyone have a source for cheap plated 5/16-ish quicklinks or similar? To be used for access anchors - so far I've gotten by with old hardware from routes that I've rebolted but I'm running out. I'm reluctant to order Amazon specials. |

Bonier pingo or duplo hangers are a really good deal for seldom rapped access anchors. |

Big Redwrote: Sailing suppliers can be hit or miss but sometimes will have 6 packs/12 packs of quick links at great prices. Probably wishful thinking, but I tell myself they’re better than the hardware store ones (though they’re probably exactly the same). |

BACK IN STOCK: Bonier Duplas, Simples, and PinGo (available in both 304L and 316L SS) rope and carabiner friendly hangers. Bonier refuses to produce cheap plated steel hangers like other hanger producers. |

There's a good deal on bolts/hangers right now from Fixe: |

I was hoping they would have cable draws on sale :( |

Fixe. All the way. Not only is it a straight forward wambamthankyoumaam one stop shop nearly anything you need, their prices are great, you're supporting dirtbags living in Bishop and keeping money out of the hands of the giants. I just bought a bunch of bolts from them for a new route on Tehipite and got all the goods within a week of ordering. You know their name, now just keep them in business. They're one of the good ones. https://fixehardware.com/index.php/catalogsearch/result/?q=Sale+items |

Adam Wwrote: Powers 5 piece bolts aren’t available in Europe and you can’t beat the price of Fixe’s combos with that bolt. |

Scott Sinnerwrote: Yes but Fixe sells their own M10x90 bolts 316 stainless with 316L hangers in a 100 pack for around $5 per bolt/hanger combo outside the US including shipping to my house. The powers combo is 304 stainless. The 316 hangers alone from Fixe US are $4.75 each. Fixe's own literature that they send with the Fixe 1 hangers recommends using their own brand of bolts,,,,which they don't even sell in this country. I asked if they could import the 100 packs of bolt+hangers they said no because there is no demand for metric in the US. |

Adam Wwrote: a couple of things on that: 1.) the powers bolts are sleeves/5-piece, the fixe m10 you mention are wedge bolts. while it could be argued that a bolt is a bolt, personally i prefer sleeves (and to me this is apples and oranges). 2.) the fixe (us) deal that scott mentions is $5.36 for the (powers) bolt/(fixe) ss hanger combo. you're mentioning 'around' $5' from outside the US - while there may be additional shipping for the fixe US order there is definitely something to be said for supporting a 'local' brick and mortar climbing shop with 'local' employees and a 'local' owner (all of whom are climbers and people i know), especially if the price difference is so low! none of those guys are getting rich from selling hardware (you need to sell soft goods made in some poor country with cheap labor to get anywhere near that status). i agree that fixe US prices are a bit high relative to other manufacturers/suppliers/distributors and i certainly don't shy away from buying online and overseas, BUT when the price difference is really minimal there's really no reason to go overseas for a 'great' deal! |

^agree with what you are saying about the price difference being small but that is comparing 304 to 316 stainless. The 316 hangers in the US are almost the same cost as the wedge bolt with the hanger outside the US was my overall point |

Looks like a great deal on 1/2" x 5.5" 316 bolts and hangers--$200 for (edit) 45 sets: https://www.mountainproject.com/forum/topic/200253719/fs-cams-bolts-qds-books#ForumMessage-200254118 Update: Just bought some 3/8" bolts from this guy, and they arrived as described. |
