Your Favorite Climbing Photos of All Time
|
|
Climbing is a beautiful sport. The aesthetics of the movement, rock, and settings lend themselves well to photography. What are some of your favorite climbing photos and photographers? Let's see some incredible shots! A personal favorite of mine is Spencer McKay (@spencermckay on Instagram). He does incredible work. This shot of Mary Eden on Belly Full of Bad Berries is standout for me: |

I really like this Christian Fracchia photo of Lindsay Chervenak on Erect Direction at the Gunks. Highlights just how ridiculously good the Gunks are. This is a 10c roof. lol |

That one of Jeff is so classic. Love those shots too, Steve! Is that Croft in the middle one? |

My favorite climbing photos of all time are all personal, snap shots of my climbing partners in outrageous or personally meaningful places, but I won't share those here. In terms of famous photos, thinking about it, this one is my favorite because of the smile and the man doing the smiling. (photo credit - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fritz_Wiessner) |

Love him or hate him. I find that Andy Kirkpatrick’s photos make me “feel” the most. Though many of my favorite photos like Cherokee Nunes are of partners.

Ok fun thread. So not my favorite photo but maybe someone in this thread can find this one I still think about. There was an old ad that used to run in Climbing Mag and Rock & Ice (talking early 90s) that was for a rope company (maybe Sterling?) with the text 'Because it's a long way down'. The picture was a profile-style shot of some dude in tights on a MEGA run out on overhanging terrain. Dude was hanging on some jugs with feet cut, looking down, no pro or belayer visible in the frame. Maybe 30-40' run out. Anyone got this one they can post up? |

Buzz Letzterwrote: Yeah - was lucky enough to visit the property a handful of times and help out with trails, get spooked by rattlesnakes, and climb a little. |
