Here’s one that I haven’t climbed but I know someone who has. Does that count??

I have an idea but can't post a photo. Would anybody be able to post in my place if I happen to be correct?

My guess is the direct northwest face of half dome.

Ignatius you can always open it up to anyone if you get it and don't have anything to post.

Daniel there's no rule that saying you have to climb a route to post it in this thread.

Ok Kevin; I'll take your suggestion. It's not the Direct; the lower pitches don't look anything like that. Not Tis-sa-ack either. From that chimney/cave low down, which I think was used as a bivvy site on the FA, I'm going for Queen of Spades.

Yep, Queen of spades. Those opening squeeze chimney pitches look so cool, but I would certainly bail before the stacked pitches of A4 expando above

Those opposed hooks sounded quite exciting as well!

As mentioned above I can't post a photo. Kevin - would you like to dive in? I expect that you'd have got to the right answer at some point. Failing that, it's open for anybody to post up.

Thanks Ignatius, I've let others go several times so I'll take this opportunity. Location is familiar to many so name the route.

Not steeple

Not the Fowler. Al, only us old guys call it that. :) It's now referred to as the minor dihedral.

Not the major

Not the minor

Not railroad tracks either

Major dihedral?

Must be the Minor Dihedral then but could be inferring too hard on the way you wrote “Not the Major”

Here is another one of the same route that might give a little more information for the routes location.

Nice Matt. Great route with not the best name!

Edit: well Matt put it back on your list for next time it’s good.

I’ve always wanted to do that route! But we climbed lost temple spire instead primarily because it had a better name.

Name the formation/area

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
