I've had it with this elitist, gate-keeping, virtue signaling gas-lighting bullshit all you mother fuckers that are against us shirt-off, beanie wearing bad-ass CLIMBERS. That's right I said it. WE ARE CLIMBERS TOO! We top out our climbs like trad climbers, all our falls are ground falls. You wish you were as good, tough and as bad ass as us! All we do when we go CLIMBING is CLIMB we don't split hairs on the virtues of a 9.7 or 9.8mm rope or which cam is better--you know what you're doping when you argue over the material in your runners? NOT FUCKING CLIMBING is what your doing. So glad I could get that off my chest. and... ...I know where are all your crags are bitches! and you don't know where mine are! FPAs(first pebble ascent) count too even if the beta for the two moves has been discussed for hours while laying around on giant pads.

I actually gained an immense amount of respect for boulder development while trying to clean up a boulder landing in the wet, wet front range today. No - my grievance is with those folks who only clean the exact holds they'll use on a route or boulder. Painfully obvious when you run into that on a new route unfortunately.

If you read the question I asked in context, you'll notice I wasn't asking what you do for the community, I was asking what you have done to maintain access at Apartment Boulders. Call me crazy but I thought climbing was about climbing, not about how many ticks you can accumulate. That's just ridiculous.
Yeah, I'm only in it for the ticks... bless your heart. Tal Mwrote: Lmaooo this is hilarious. Nbrown here probably has 500+ FAs to his name, an additional who knows how many more that he cleaned and then handed off to other developers so they could have it. Miles of trail built, tons of people mentored and somehow not that many MP arguments to his name. Anytime I find a new spot, he's the first person I contact because I know he actually gives a shit about any place he attaches his name to. As I explained, I wasn't questioning nbrown's (apparently prodigious) contributions to the community--I was questioning what he's done specifically for Apartment Boulders. I could have been clearer, perhaps.

I personally respect it all... and think it's all cool as shit... climbing... I've spent about 25% of my climbing time on pebbles, I get it. It's all still pretty silly in general IMO. All of it is way better than sitting around watching TV on a glorious day (which seems to be a norm in good ole 'murica).

All types of climbing have their pros and cons and it's great that people gravitate towards what they like best. Bouldering pros include: doing the hardest moves you will ever try, makes you stronger than other types of climbing, hanging out with a group of friends, hanging out comfortably on flat ground. Bouldering is not my favorite type of climbing, but I get why it is some people's favorite. And I'm glad that I have a variety of types of climbing to do when I feel like it.
