overheard at the crag: post it

How’s that different than a #8 hex? |

Doctor Drakewrote:Using my buddy’s beaster egg today. Yes, it is a wooden handle on a prussik cord that is far more comfortable and easy to grab than a skinny rope. I like it for all the reasons listed above, but also because it is far kinder to your skin and doesn’t take as much off. Doesn’t Gwyneth Paltrow sell a product that looks just like that? Called Yoni Egg. Her’s are made out of Jade or Quartz. Not sure if they have that retrieval string though. That’s smart. |

Ackley The Improvedwrote: I don't think that hexes - #8 or otherwise - are made of wood. Also that appears to fit only one crack size - much like Acorns from the early/mid-1960s, or thereabouts - whereas a modern hex fits three. But if you're using it to fend off aggressive faunas there's probably no difference. |

june mwrote: You think its funny but I once had to offer a newbie a foot as a handhold on a multipitch |
|
|
phylp phylpwrote: To be honest I'd have thought that they'd definitely smart - whether made out of Jade, Quartz or Balsa Wood/whatever. But what with my sheltered upbringing I probably shouldn't offer an opinion. |

I love how everyone ignores my other posts saying that it doesn't matter to me and that I congratulated her for her climb. Anyway, this weekend I saw someone with brand new tc pros having trouble climbing an easy crack (it was me, I'm the one who sucks at climbing) |

Dan Dwrote: Obviously, your shoes are too new and held you back. |

|
phylp phylpwrote: Phylp just won this thread! |
|
|
Dan Dwrote: We're on to who is the most experienced boinker now dan, dont let it go to your head. |
|
|
phylp phylpwrote: I can only apologize; I'm not usually that rude. At least, I think it was rude; like I said - sheltered upbringing! |

Not at the crag but ... "Look over there on the right. They are what we call potential clients." Comment by an Air Zermatt Mtn Rescue pilot, Gerold Biner while flying near Saas-Fee after observing skiers descending an unstable slope. |

It's a leash, not a retrieval string, like the wrist loops on a ski pole. You don't want to be losing that thing in gnarly terrain! |

Not climbing but today I overheard someone talking about his kids sports. I heard him say they were getting into “hardcore clucking” I’m sure I misheard him. And I certainly didn’t have context. But that’s what my brain heard. |

Dan Dwrote: You wear TC Pros? Awful! Me too. I also fail to live up to the potential of the shoe. I’ve been thinking of renaming mine TC Schmoes. Seems like your first post is suffering the ground up lash. |

Overheard a few weeks ago. “He totally thinks he’s the leader… Nick isn’t the leader, nick has lime disease” |

Owen Mathematics silent partnerwrote: Probably caught it from that lime helmet cat dude, in Margaritaville. |

Old lady Hwrote: Probably. I think he gave me Corona and Lime! |
